  • Ensure compliance with Quest quality systems (PC).
  • Coordinate the purchase of material; subcontracted parts, and direct and indirect items.

Director of Supply Chain[+] READ MORE

We are seeking a Director of Supply Chain to uphold Quests values and mission and assure high quality aircraft by; managing and leading those involved in materials management functions including purchasing, shipping/receiving, and inventory control of material resources required for production. This person will be a key member of the Production Operations team and involved in the assessment, analysis, planning and setting of direction towards establishing and perpetuating the process of continual improvement in production towards a world class lean production model.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Understand and work within the FAA regulations to maintain the flow of materials to and through the production work cells while minimizing the assets needed to support production.
  • Review our current processes as a development and certification company and formulate a strategy for modifications that enhance the timely availability of materials and utilization of company assets
  • Be prepared to contribute ideas towards and implement the strategies for establishing a lean production environment at Quest in which the self perpetuating goal of improvement is fundamental
  • Prepare a scorecard system of measuring supplier performance and a plan for gradually implementing improvements within Quest and for working with the suppliers
  • Develop positive relationships within the Production Operations management team and as a leader of the current employees within the SCM responsibility

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Ensure compliance with Quest quality systems (PC).
  • Responsible for any or all of the following: Revision Implementation; Work Authorizations for Production and/or Master Schedule changes.
  • Support and increase parts availability to ensure productivity improvements and mandated TAKT Time increases are met.
  • Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, work procedures, considering limitations and time constraints.
  • Help develop and implement performance tracking systems, analyzing performance of key indicators to ensure the correct amount of parts in the correct configuration are available when needed.

  • Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space.

  • Replaces paper in all dispensers and refills soap dispensers.
  • Empties office and production floor garbage containers.
  • Notifies manager concerning need for repairs, equipment, and cleaning supplies.
  • Washes and sanitizes lunch room and kitchen counters, tables, chairs, microwaves, refrigerators, and front of vending machines.
  • Disposes of all non-company items from refrigerators and freezers each Friday after business hours.
  • Dusts reception area and customer service building furniture.
  • Washes and removes marks from walls and doors.

  • Creates and/or analyzes project proposals to determine feasibility, producibility, cost, and production time, and discusses proposal with customer representatives, engineers, and other personnel.
  • Evaluates product design for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and specifications.
  • Evaluates and checks design changes and drawing releases.
  • Coordinates design, production, testing, and related activities.
  • Consults with project personnel and others to provide technical assistance and information.
  • Conceive, plan, and conduct research in problem areas of considerable scope and complexity.
  • Contribute new inventions, new designs, or techniques which are of material significance in the solution of important problems.
  • Serve as a technical specialist for the organization in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes.
  • Keep abreast of new scientific methods and developments affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in emphasis of programs or new programs warranted by such developments.
  • As DER:

  • Carry out technical and/or administrative DER duties as defined by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and more than 10 years aerospace engineering experience.
  • The ability to lead a team of peers within the Engineering group required.
  • CAD and MS Office Suite proficiency.
  • NX experience preferred.
  • Broad experience in the design and certification of Aerospace systems and structures.
  • Extensive experience in a regulated environment, proficiency with FAR 23 required.
  • Able to lead a team through problem solving with a cross-functional perspective (Engineering, Production, Customer Service, Quality, Supply Chain, etc)
