Technical Writer 2 / Certification Administrator

We are seeking a Technical Writer / Certification Administrator to join our Engineering Services team. This position will be responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation as it relates to Quest Aircraft products (e.g. aircraft manuals, parts catalogs, and field service instructions), ensuring proper standards are followed in the creation, maintenance, and/or revision of such documents.  This position is also responsible for communicating and coordinating foreign certification efforts, and acting as a liaison between the Engineering group, foreign authorities, and the FAA, ensuring that certification requirements, documentation, and paperwork are communicated both to and from the FAA as well as foreign authorities.

Associate’s degree OR minimum of four years related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required. Must be proficient in Adobe publication products, such as Photo Shop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat Pro and have graphic design experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required with the ability to effectively present information to public groups and executive management. Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures, engineering drawings, electrical schematics, business correspondence, and government regulations. Must be able to write reports, procedure manuals, business correspondence, and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Experience in large manual creation and maintenance required. Familiarity with JASC and GAMA desired. Exceptional organizational and self-management skills are a must.

Aerospace Engineer 2

We are seeking a Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer to join our team. This position will support the Customer Service engineering effort and will be responsible for developing processes, solving problems, and making improvements in support of the total life cycle of the Kodiak aircraft.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop products, tools and or systems.
  • Perform testing to validate designs.
  • Prepare requirements, specifications, and assist with the development of processes.
  • Develop, document, and integrate systems engineering principles (system safety and fault tree analyses), lean manufacturing techniques, and standard operating procedure into the engineering culture.
  • Perform research and prepare documentation, reports, procedures and tests.
  • Utilize computer-aided engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Collect and correlate data, recognizing discrepancies in results.
  • Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer, using prescribed methods.
  • Develop designs using Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Lean Manufacturing principles.    

 

Position Requirements and Preferences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • 2 – 4 years experience strongly preferred.
  • CAD and MS Office Suite proficiency required.
  • NX experience preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Knowledgeable in aircraft design, manufacturing, tooling and systems.
  • Experience with the materials generally used in the riveted aluminum aircraft and composite materials.
  • Some familiarity with 14 CFR Part 23 (or similar) regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems design and integration into aircraft.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how systems and structures interact in a small aircraft.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technical areas and skills to support a project.
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate respect and support of our company vision, mission and values.

Quality Inspector 3[+] READ MORE

We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join our team. This position is responsible for performing a variety of moderately complex and detailed inspections in support of Production, Manufacturing, Engineering, engineering projects, and aircraft certification. This individual will perform diverse and difficult visual, mechanical and functional inspection duties on detail parts, sub-assemblies, installations and aircraft including, but not limited to system checks, testing calibration, verification, measuring, and documentation of mechanical and cosmetic acceptance or rejection of components/systems. 

Minimum five years of experience as a Quality Inspector or equivalent position, performing quality inspections in a manufacturing and/or machine shop environment. Three to five years of aircraft manufacturing experience strongly preferred. Prior Lead experience in a manufacturing and/or machine shop environment strongly preferred. Must have extensive knowledge and understanding of all aspects of quality and aircraft manufacturing. Must have knowledge of and experience in using Precision Measuring Equipment (PME) and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). Must have a high degree of mechanical aptitude and attention to detail with the ability to work quickly and thoroughly in a production environment. Must be proficient in MS Office Suite. The right individual will have a high degree of integrity, be team-oriented, dependable, trustworthy, and present self with professionalism.
