Mechanical Engineer (Engineer I)[+] READ MORE

We are seeking a Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer to join our team. This position will report to the Type Design Engineering Manager and will be responsible for developing processes, solving problems, and making improvements focused within the discipline of Propulsion System Design and Testing. Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to work well with all other disciplines, including those outside of Engineering.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned): 

  • Design and develop products, tools and or systems.
  • Research and implement solutions for design improvements and part obsolescence.
  • Perform testing to validate designs.
  • Complete design and drawing changes with engineering substantiations.
  • Prepare requirements, specifications, and assist with the development of processes.
  • Perform research, and prepare documentation, reports, procedures and tests.
  • Develop, document, and integrate systems engineering principles, lean manufacturing techniques, and standard operating procedure into the engineering culture.
  • Develop designs using Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of engineering projects in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.
  • Perform work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, and difficult coordination requirements.
  • Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organizational objectives.

 

 

Position Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent) required.
  • 0 to 3 years of experience, aerospace experience a plus.
  • The ability to work independently as well as in a small team of peers.
  • CAD and MS Office Suite proficiency required.
  • NX experience preferred.
  • Experience with testing and troubleshooting required.
  • Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 23 regulations a plus.
  • Recognition that Mechanical Systems and Structures are one of many important systems of the airplane, and the ability to solve problems with that in mind.

Facilities Supervisor[+] READ MORE

This position maintains all Quest buildings, machine shop systems, equipment, and company grounds.  Oversees and directs facilities personnel, custodial staff, and workers engaged in equipment installation, equipment repair, and preventative maintenance.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Management of all building and grounds the company owns and or leases, including mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Develop and implement a building and ground maintenance/training program
  • Plan, assign, and direct the construction, maintenance, and repair of buildings and /or related equipment.
  • Facilitate the planning and budgeting for the repair, maintenance, and remodeling of all buildings.  Develop a process to determine if work will be completed by the company staff and/or sub contractors.
  • Budget oversight responsibilities for sub-contractor services; repairs, remodeling, and new construction.
  • Monitor facility for OSHA, EPA, and city compliance and report and /take action on unsafe conditions as necessary.  Work with insurance underwriters to implement corrective action and ensure facilities comply with all requirements.
  • Ensure proper operation of A/C and furnace system, refrigeration equipment, boiler system, power distribution equipment, interior and exterior lighting, utilities, hangar doors, and sewer lift stations.
  • Administer Lockout /Tag Out program, hazard communication, and ensure appropriate action for chemical spill cleanup.  Manager the handling, storage, disposal, and reporting of hazardous materials, while maintaining compliance with the EPA.

 

 

Supervisory Requirements:

Leads and manages employees in the Facilities Department.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this department.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, disciplining, and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving issues.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years related work experience
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of building construction and project management methods.
  • Hazmat certified.
  • Ability to ready, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures, blue prints, business correspondence, and government regulations.

Aircraft Assembler[+] READ MORE

We are seeking a Aircraft Assembler to join our team.  This entry level position is responsible for properly assembling, fastening, and installing parts of the KODIAK® 100 Aircraft.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Familiarization with the use of hand and power tools.
  • Must be able, or be trainable, to competently install solid rivets commonly used in the construction of aircraft and aircraft assemblies.
  • Experience with blueprint reading preferred.
  • Must be able to apply common sense understanding, carry out instructions, and demonstrate good analytical skills, alphanumeric accuracy and reading comprehension.
  • Ability to demonstrate high attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and thoroughly in a production environment.
  • Must be an excellent team player, be dependable, trustworthy and present self with professionalism.
  • The right individual will be teachable and willing to learn.

 

Job Requirements:

 

  •  High School diploma or GED required.
  • Familiar with the use of hand and power tools.
  • Must receive passing grade on Department of Labor competency test.

Aircraft Maintenance Level 2[+] READ MORE

Summary
Responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections of various KODIAK aircraft.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Read and interpret technical publications, illustrations, and specifications to determine layouts, sequences of operations, or identities and relationships of parts.
  • Measure, align, fit, assemble, connect, and install components, using measuring instruments, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Assemble, install, and connect parts, fittings, and assemblies on aircraft, using hand and power tools of variety, and fasteners such as bolts, rivets, and clamps.
  • Inspect and test installed units, parts, systems, and assemblies for fit, alignment, performance, defects, and compliance with standards, using measuring instruments and test equipment.
  • Drill, ream, rivet, (all types of rivets), use fasteners, and use bonding and sealing agents.
  • Clean parts, using chemicals in conversion priming or painting.
  • Understand and execute inventory and traceability functions.
  • Understand material shortage, material handling, marking of parts, kit pulling, process specs, and other company policies and procedures.
  • Move aircraft when needed.
  • Assist on aircraft starts and taxiing operations.
  • Maintain clean and organized facility.
  • Assist with incremental inspections (100 hour, 200 hours, etc) and annual inspections.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience and/or education/training in related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station, or similarly controlled repair environment.
  • FAA A&P License preferred.
  • Ability to travel internationally as needed.
  • Proficient in MS Windows XP, MS Office Suite, and Internet Explorer.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Technical Marketing and Sales Coordinator[+] READ MORE

This new position focuses on creating and maintaining highly important technical tools that will form the foundation for the technical marketing package for the Kodiak which integrates with the overall Kodiak marketing effort. In addition, the ideal candidate will have skills that will enable him/her to contribute to a wide range of Quest sales and marketing tasks.   • Through use of all available documentation and internal contacts, develop in depth understanding of all aspects of Kodiak systems, construction, performance, and relevant capabilities.
  • In coordination with Marketing team, develop and maintain accurate and sales focused route analysis tool for both internal and dealer use.
  • Assist with development and updating of effective sales presentations that will integrate with Kodiak marketing image and graphic standards
  • Assist Marketing team with updating product comparison material, to highlight all relevant advantages for Kodiak in a professional and sales effective manner.
  • Maintain and expand criteria for Kodiak owner database through use of Kodiak Owner Support department, industry sources, and dealer contact.
  • When required, coordinate with Quest PR department to support Kodiak message delivery efforts.
  • Assist Senior VP Sales and Marketing, VP Dealers, Marketing Director with additional tasks as directed
  • As required, perform in house coordination on technical and marketing topics
  • Provide timely and insightful suggestions related to improvements to the Kodiak sales and marketing efforts

Position Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in aviation related field of study.
  • Pilot’s license and flying experience is highly desirable, especially understanding of FARs, aircraft systems, performance calculations, and aircraft capabilities.
  • Proficiency in creating presentations, templates, spreadsheets, and integrating company graphic standards
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills required for both internal (interdepartmental), dealer and customer contacts
  • Communication skills (written and spoken) to work effectively with the marketing/sales department, other Quest departments, Dealers and customers.
  • Willing to travel, when required
  • An interest in aircraft technical subjects, and how they can be integrated with marketing materials, is essential.
